EarthLink has earned an award-winning reputation for outstanding customer service and its suite of online products and services.  We value our customers, and strive to meet their changing needs.

Please note that EarthLink previously discontinued the sale and provisioning of new MailStation devices and service.  Therefore, EarthLink cannot establish Mailstation service for new customers, including those who may have purchased a  previously-owned Mailstation device (such as models Mivo 100, Mivo 150, Mivo 200, Mivo 250 and Mivo 350) from a third party.  Additionally, EarthLink cannot supply replacement Mailstation devices for existing Mailstation service and cannot transfer  existing Mailstation service to a previously-owned or "replacement" Mailstation device purchased from a third party.

MailStation 250 FAQ
General Questions
General Questions
How many messages can I send in a month? Will I be charged extra if I send too many messages?

With Basic Service you can send as many messages as you want, to as many people as you want, in any place in the world, with no additional fee! Certain restrictions may apply to other service plans.

If my batteries die will I lose my email and Address Book?

No, MailStation will store your emails and Address Book information even without batteries or AC power. However, if your MailStation 250 notifies you of low batteries, it is highly recommended that you plug in your AC adapter and replace the batteries as soon as possible.

Can I connect my MailStation 250 to any phone line to get my email, even when traveling in other parts of the United States or staying in hotel rooms?

Yes, you can connect MailStation 250 to any standard residential (analog) phone line to send and receive email. If you travel outside of your local calling area, you will need to change your dial-up number. For a list of MailStation 250 phone numbers, visit Access Numbers if you have access to a computer, then see Edit Dial-up Information in your owner's manual. Remember to change the number back to your local dial-up number when you return home.

NOTE: Please check with your local telephone company's billing office to determine if any tolls apply when using the number provided to you by EarthLink. EarthLink assumes no responsibility for any long distance charges that you may incur.

When will I need my account password?

You need your account password when you want to access your email from the Web Mail site (http://webmail.earthlink.net).  If you do not know your email password, you can contact EarthLink customer support for assistance.

Can I use my MailStation 250 while traveling internationally?

In many cases, yes. However, there are no international "local" MailStation 250 dial-up numbers. You will need to dial back to a U.S.-based dial-up number when traveling out of the U.S. to use your MailStation. You can send and receive email internationally by using the following instructions:

Set-up your MailStation 250 according to the diagram on page 10 in your owner's manual, Setting-up the MailStation 250.

- Edit your dial-up number (see Changing MailStation's Dial-Up Number on page 43 in your owner's manual) to include the complete United States telephone number: 1 area code number.

- Dial the operator from the attached telephone and ask for a United States line. (You can provide the Operator with a calling card if desired.)

NOTE: Please check with your local telephone company's billing office to determine if any tolls apply when using the number provided to you by EarthLink. EarthLink assumes no responsibility for any long distance charges that you may incur.

- After you are connected to the United States line, press GET E-MAIL on your MailStation 250.

- As soon as you hear the MailStation 250 dial, hang up the phone.

- The MailStation 250 will send and retrieve your messages.

- You may also be able to enter a complete international dialing string into MailStation's dial-up number field (see Changing MailStation's Dial-Up Number on page 43 of your owner's manual for more information), including U.S. access code and other appropriate dialing information. MailStation's dial-up number field can accommodate up to 40 digits to be dialed. Use a comma "," to signify a two-second pause while dialing, and use a "p" at the start of the dial-up number string to indicate pulse dialing if necessary. You may also need to instruct MailStation not to check for a dial tone when dialing to operate properly internationally (see Setting the Ignore Dial Tone Option on page 46 for more information).

Another popular way to access email while traveling abroad is to use a Cyber Cafe or any personal computer with internet access. Open a Web browser and visit:

http://webmail.earthlink.net

You will need to use your account name and password to access your MailStation email account. (See "When would I need my account password?" above for more information).

How do I save messages that I have sent or received so that I can view or edit the content later?

If you need to keep a record of the contents of an email, you can send the email to your own email address. To do this, simply add your email address to the "T" field when composing an email. When it is received in your Inbox, it will remain there, for viewing, editing, re-sending, or until you decide to delete it.

Can I use a cell phone with my MailStation 250?

Probably not. Check with your cell phone manufacturer or cellular service provider for any available PC/Modem connection kit that may be available for your cellular telephone.

Can I change my Internet Service Provider (ISP) or use my own ISP?

Your MailStation 250 is permanently configured to use EarthLink's MailStation dial-up network and email servers for maximum reliability and performance of your MailStation.

Can I read my email using the Internet when I don't have access to my MailStation 250?

Yes, from a personal computer, open a Web browser and visit: http://webmail.earthlink.net. You will need to use your account name and password to access your MailStation email account. (See "When would I need my account password?" above for more information).

Can I access the email I receive at another location with my MailStation 250?

Yes. To receive your email which was sent to another email address, you must instruct your other email account to forward your email to your MailStation 250 account. Contact your ISP's technical support representatives for help in doing this.

Can I read messages that include attachments?

Yes, from a personal computer, open a Web browser and visit: http://webmail.earthlink.net. You will need to use your account name and password to access your MailStation email account. (See "When would I need my account password?" above for more information.)

How do I change my Content Information Channels?

EarthLink is no longer able to make changes to the Content Information Channels on 250 or 350 Mailstation devices.
