How to Set Up Your DSL Modem

Shut down and turn off your computer.

Insert one end of the yellow Ethernet cable found in your Modem Kit into your computer’s Ethernet port, and the other end into the modem’s yellow Ethernet port.

Please insert the dual-jack filter into the wall jack nearest your computer now.

NOTE: The dual-jack filter is only required if the wall jack you are using will also be the source for your telephone.

Insert one end of the gray phone cord  - found in your Modem Kit - into the gray side of the dual-jack DSL filter, and the other end into the modem’s gray DSL port.

Connect the power supply to your surge protector (we strongly encourage) or outlet and modem's power port.

Turn on the modem.

If you're setting your modem up for a Home Network, click here for further instructions. Use single jack filters with everything that plugs into a wall jack (additional telephones, fax machines, etc.)
