Before using voicemail for the first time, there are four items you will want to configure:

  • Record your personal greeting
  • Choose the number of rings before sending calls to voicemail
  • Choose if you want to be notified via email when you have new messages
  • Choose if you want your messages sent to you as email attachments

  • Must have an EarthLink trueVoice or DSL & Home Phone account.
  • Must have the Voice username and password. Most likely this is the primary mailbox that is in use.


How to Configure Voicemail for First Time Use

Log on to myVoice at Click here if you need help logging in.


From the Menu section in the left column, click Features & Preferences.


The page that appears will give a list of different settings. From this page, you will click the Edit link next to Voicemail.


On the screen that appears next, click the Turn on Voicemail radio button.


Choose a number of rings from the Wait for __  rings before sending calls to voicemail pull-down menu.


If desired, check Notify me by email when new voicemails arrive. You can then enter an email address to send the emails to, and choose whether to attach a copy of the message itself to the email.


Click the Record a Greeting button.


Your EarthLink Voice phone will ring. Pick it up and follow the instructions to record a new greeting.


Click Save. Your voicemail should be ready for use.
